Awareness Seminar on KP NFC Share and Marged Areas Challenges-1st December 2025
As per the directives of the Honorable Chief Minister/Chancellor, the University of Shangla organized an important Awareness Seminar on “KP NFC Share and Merged Areas’ Challenges” in collaboration with its affiliated colleges. The seminar was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan (TI), Vice Chancellor, University of Shangla.
The purpose of the seminar was to educate students, faculty, and administrative staff on the significance of the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, with special focus on:
KP’s Rightful Share in the NFC Award
Historical and Current Allocation to KP
Deprivation of the Merged Districts
Administrative Merger vs. Financial Merger
Challenges in Development and Service Delivery Due to Pending Financial Merger
The keynote session was delivered by Dr. Muhammad Salam (PhD Economics), who provided a detailed analysis of KP’s NFC share, the structural challenges faced by the merged districts, and the implications of the delayed financial merger on development, governance, and service delivery.
The Honorable Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the organizers, acknowledged the participation of students and faculty, and emphasized the importance of understanding financial mechanisms that directly impact provincial development. At the conclusion of the event, he distributed certificates among the speaker and the organizing committee.
