University of Shangla Celebrates Independence Day with National Spirit and Enthusiasm
As per the directives of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Higher Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the University of Shangla organized a series of activities to celebrate 14th August, Independence Day of Pakistan, under the leadership of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan (TI).
The celebrations featured a variety of academic, cultural, and sports activities, including a Sport Gala, Speech Competition, and Milli Naghma Competition. Students from different Schools of the University actively participated in the speech and Milli Naghma competitions and demonstrated their talent, confidence, and deep sense of patriotism.
The main Independence Day ceremony commenced with a walk from the Administration Block to the Main Gate, followed by a flag-hoisting ceremony. Special prayers (Dua) were offered for the martyrs (Shuhada) of the Armed Forces, Police, and civilians of Pakistan who sacrificed their lives for the safety, security, and sovereignty of the country.
The ceremony also included a Milli Naghma performance and speeches by students, who highlighted the significance of Pakistan’s independence and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s founding leaders and martyrs. The activities created an atmosphere of national unity, patriotism, and enthusiasm among students, faculty, and staff.
On the occasion, the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan (TI), extended his heartfelt greetings to the university community and emphasized that Independence Day is a reminder of the immense sacrifices made by our forefathers for the creation of Pakistan. He stated that the day calls upon everyone to uphold the values of unity, faith, discipline, tolerance, and national responsibility.
The Vice Chancellor further emphasized that independence is not merely a celebration of freedom but also a commitment to contribute positively to the progress, prosperity, and stability of the country. He highlighted the important role of universities in nurturing educated, responsible, and visionary citizens capable of addressing the challenges of the modern world.
He reaffirmed the University's commitment to excellence in education, research, innovation, and service to society, and urged students, faculty, and staff to work with dedication, integrity, and a strong spirit of patriotism.
He said that through collective efforts, dedication, and responsible citizenship, we can contribute to building a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous Pakistan.
At the conclusion of the event, the Honorable Vice Chancellor thanked all the students, faculty members, staff, organizers, and participants for their enthusiastic participation and valuable contributions to the Independence Day celebrations. And distributed certificates and Trophy, Medals among the winners and runners teams and positions holders.
The event concluded with prayers for the peace, prosperity, stability, and continued progress of Pakistan.
