5th August- Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir Observed at the University of Shangla
In compliance with the directives of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Higher Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the University of Shangla observed Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir under the leadership of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan (TI).
The event was organized to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to highlight the importance of peace, justice, and respect for human rights.
The programme commenced with a seminar followed by a solidarity walk, focusing on the constitutional and political implications of the revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A of the Constitution of India after the unilateral decision of the Government of India on 5 August 2019 to revoke the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the participants, the Honorable Vice Chancellor stated that the University of Shangla stands in solidarity with the people of Kashmir and called upon the international community, particularly the United Nations, to play its role in promoting peace and addressing the humanitarian concerns in the region.
The event was attended by Dr. Imad Ali, Additional Registrar, faculty members, officers, staff, and students of the University. The programme featured speeches highlighting the significance of Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, patriotic songs, Milli Naghmas, and a solidarity walk held around the Main Block of the University campus. Certificates of appreciation were also distributed among students and organizers in recognition of their active participation and valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the event.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Honorable Vice Chancellor thanked all participants for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated their efforts in making the event a success. He reaffirmed the University's commitment to promoting awareness, peace, and respect for human dignity through such meaningful initiatives.
